We are proud of our neighborhood and its exceptional quality of life and have created this website to share it with our residents and visitors.  With its superb location in the Animas River valley, bounded on the east and west by the striking red Hermosa Cliffs and a mere 10 miles north of Durango, Colorado and 17 miles from Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory), The Ranch is ideally situated for its residents to enjoy and appreciate the "outdoor life" in The West. 
 
   Close at hand are the cultural offerings, fine restaurants and shopping of Durango, the skiing, mountain-biking and other offerings of DMR and a myriad of hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, hunting, fishing and river sports opportunities in the beautiful San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado.
 
   At The Ranch, we have our own residential oasis due, in part, to an excellent irrigation system that provides virtually every residence with its own adjoining share of small streams, ponds or lakes and allows for a lush and verdant landscaped environment.  Set therein is a mixture of townhomes and single-family homes and a community of residents from all over the country with a strong sense of community and a wide diversity of cultural backgrounds and interests,
